Based in Flagstaff, Arizona, Mother Road Brewing Company’s mission is to brew distinguished beers and build community, one pint at a time. Today, Mother Road is Arizona’s third-largest independent craft brewer but that gives little indication of Mother Road’s humble beginnings. Mother Road opened its doors in 2011 with just one beer on tap and three employees! A short two years later, Mother Road signed with Hensley Beverage Company and widened it’s distribution statewide. Things really took off for the Brewery in 2015 though when they released their widely-beloved Tower Station IPA. In 2018, in response to their success and a growing demand for their product, Mother Road opened their Butler Avenue brewing facility, expanding their capacity to 15,000 barrels per year. By 2021 however, the Butler Ave. facility had ramped up production to 27,000 barrels per year.
Not only known for their great beer and their commitment to building a gathering space for the Flagstaff community, Mother Road is leading the way in sustainable business practices in northern Arizona. In 2022, Mother Road was awarded the first annual Green Business of the Year Award presented by the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce.
In 2021 Mother Road launched a carbon dioxide recapture system at its brewery. This system captures carbon from their brewing process and re-inject it directly into their beers. This revolutionary, closed-loop system is made possible by technology from Earthly Labs. In partnership with the Arizona Game and Fish Wildlife Hero program, Mother Road donates a percentage of proceeds from the sale of every can of their Conserve & Protect Golden Ale to help protect Arizona’s 800 species. Mother Road is also a proud member of Arizona Forward, a non-profit organization dedicated to cooperative efforts that improve the environmental sustainability and the economic vitality of our state and local regions
